He born and brought up in small Tehsil town - Kot Kapoora (Distt. Faridkot) in Malwa region of Punjab India. He learnt singing from his Guru in Faridkot. He became famous after his song - Ghund Kadd Lae Patliyie Nare - He was killed by drunk punjab police DSP officer rank person in Gurdaspur Distt of Punjab while he was singing on stage in a marriage party. That officer insisted him to sing that time famous song Nachhe Jo Sade Naal which was sung by Hans Raj Hans, so he refused to sing that song because it was belongs to another singer. That DSP was so drunk he took AK47 from his bodygaurd and fired on him, he died immediately. Later on that officer dismissed from service and sent to jail.
